UM-Flint's Dr. Rajib Ganguly-"Tales from the Darkside" 

From black holes to dark matter, from strings to dark energy, the Universe offers some of the strangest, and most exotic of objects. And the strangest thing of all is that we can’t see any of them. In this talk, we will take a journey of exploration to understand how scientists have uncovered the existence of these things, and prospects of studying them. We’ll venture into the rich history of these scientific developments, as well as the exciting scientific principles that surround them. Our trek will take us from the microscopic world of quarks and strings, to out beyond the stars, and into the minds of some of the most brilliant scientists of all time.

Also, our annual Chili Night event is here again at the nature center. Prepare your best chili and come on out for an enjoyable evening of tasting many different kinds of chili. Bring your chili, place settings, and drinks, plus a dish/dessert to pass. If you are not "accomplished in the kitchen", don't worry about not bringing chili - there will be plenty on hand.
