In ancient Israel, there had long been an expectation that the arrival of the Messiah would be accompanied by a star (Numbers 24:17). There have been a number of theories of what the Christmas star may have been and when it appeared. We’ll take a look at some of these possibilities as we approach the celebration of Christmas. Along the way, we’ll also take a brief look at the association of the future return of the Messiah with a star.

Dale Partin has a Ph.D. from Carnegie-Mellon University. He formerly did advanced research in the auto industry.
